TURN UP THE HEAT!"And unto the angel (minister) of the church of the Laodiceans write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation fo God:"He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire" (Matthew 3:11). Many people (including preachers) tell us that we are just to accept it all by faith, and there is no feeling. The truth of the matter is that when you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it is a very powerful, emotional, and miraculous experience (Acts 2:1-4). Jesus had promised, ". . . ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you" (Acts 1:8). I am glad to tell you that this power was not only for the twelve apostles. The promise of power is "unto you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call:" (Acts 2:39). The power of the Holy Ghost, and the blood of Jesus Christ, breaks the yoke of sin & bondage that many people labor under. Thousands of drug addicts, alchoholics, sex addicts, and etc., have been set free and filled with the power of the Holy Ghost that helps them to live righteous and holy before God and mankind. Sad to say, many who have received this beautiful experience, have become cold or lukwarm--exactly like the church in Laodicea. God's surprising message to them was, "I would thou wert cold or hot." Obviously, God desires everyone to be "on fire" for Him, filled with His Spirit, loving Him with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. But why did God say it was better to be cold than lukewarm? A lukewarm Christian thinks he is all right. He does a little praying, attends church, and goes through the motions of being a Christian, but his heart is filled with many other things. On the other hand, the person who is cold knows his true condition, and only when you are honest with your self can you change! What about you, dear friend, what is your true spiritual condition. Are you filled with the Holy Ghost, living a holy life, and ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Every day is one day closer to His coming--and those who live closest to Him are not only looking for that coming, but preparing for it. My plea to one and all is, "It's time to TURN UP THE HEAT, and get full of the Holy Ghost and fire!" Go to Prayer Revivals Return to Home Page |
