Down Memory's LaneBy Dale R. StarksAnoka, MinnesotaIn 1964 we left Louisiana to attend Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota. In July, 1965, we founded the United Pentecostal Church of Anoka, Minnesota. Our first convert, Ron Thompson, is now the pastor of this great church. During the time we were in Anoka, we formed a musical group that we called, "The Messengers." They were the featured singers on our weekly Radio Broadcast, "The Message of Truth." We eventually made a recording at KNOF Christian Radio. The quartette consisted of Joe and Naomi Jones, Josephine Starks, and Darald Wieneke. Josephine and I sing the first song, "Nothing That Can Compare. I play the piano on most of the selections. The ladies trio consists of my wife, Pat Wieneke, and Naomi Jones To stroll down memory's lane with me, and hear a portion, click here: Songs From The Messengers Stuttgart, West GermanyIn 1976, I became the pastor of the Stuttgart UPC Fellowship. It was probably the greatest years of our life. 32 preachers have come from that group of people. Our choir was not so great -- but very enthusiastic.
