NEWS FROM MEXICO

From the email desk of Superintendent T. Wynn Drost On behalf of the Missionaries & Ministers of the UPC of Mexico.

Merry Christmas and New Year!

Deputation.  We would like to thank all the Pastors and Churches we were able to visit on Deputation, during the past three months of August, September and October.  We traveled in California, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas - over 11,800 miles during those three months.  It was our privilege to visit many Churches.  Thank you for receiving us and, a big "THANX" to those that took us on as Partners-In-Missions - we greatly appreciate that!

In over 40 years as a missionary, it has meant a total of more than 12 years of Deputation.  That's a lot of time and, it seems to be an inevitable part of being UPCI missionaries.  We would appreciate it, if some would increase their monthly PIM commitment, especially those that are committed for $25 or less - it sure would make a difference!  Thank you.

Revival in Mexico.  In the last two to three months, another landmark was set as two of our Districts passed the 100 number of Licensed Ministers, and those are; (1) the Central District (Mexico City) and; (2) the Yucatαn District (State of Yucatαn, which includes the city of Mιrida).  We now have 27 Districts in all of Mexico, each with it's own District Board, Supervisor (District Superintendent) and Sections (with Presbyters).  We sense with excitement that 2009 will, again, be a year of great growth - with all the reports of growth and blessing that are coming in!

Central District Convention.  We just had our Central District Annual Convention here in Mexico City, with an attendance of over 4,000.  What excitement!  And, what a blessing!  There were 238 that received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and 8 baptized in the Precious Name of Jesus.  There also were many healings and miracles.  Two ladies got up out of wheelchairs and walked - one walked straight to be baptized, and wouldn't let anyone help her - completely healed!  To God be the glory!

The Central District only covers to Mexico City - a city with over 22 million people.  We now have over 80 Churches, over 5,500 baptized believers and over 103 Licensed Ministers (Pastors).  Thus far this year 2009, we've had over 2,100 baptized in the Precious Name of Jesus in this city!

Our Bible School in Mexico City has had over 210 students this year of 2009.  We look forward to more growth in 2010.  Also, we will be starting College level classes in Christian Counseling and Christian Psychology - something very new and challenging, but which will be very productive and a blessing. Pray for a continued and greater revival!

Below are a couple of pictures of our Central District Convention, this past weekend.
